Mumbai opens Iranian film festival

The Ravindra Mini Theater in Mumbai, India, has started hosting an Iranian film festival.

The theater began playing host to the event from Monday and the program is set to come to conclusion on January 26, 2018.

A number of Iranian and Indian political figures, scholars, writers, elites, academics, and artists attended the opening ceremony.

Culture and civilization of Iran and India has a lot in common and the countries have had proper cultural relationship for a long time, an Indian official and an Iranian official highlighted during the opening ceremony.

Organized by Iran’s Cultural Office in India and the Federation of Film Societies of India, the festival is screening a lineup of five recent films from Iran.

The lineup includes ‘The Human Comedy’ directed by Mohammad-Hadi Karimi, ‘Bench Cinema’ directed by Mohammad Rahmanian and ‘Salam Mumbai’ directed by Qorban Mohammadpour.

The list goes on with ‘Bleeding Heart’ directed by Mohammadreza Rahmani and ‘Under the Smoky Roof’ directed by Pouran Derakhshandeh.
